I stopped by this place for lunch on the second day it opened. I was just strolling down Howard looking for a place for lunch when I noticed peculiar taco cartoons leading me into a cold, dark and empty Club 525. It looked like a trap, but an interesting trap, so I went in. The decor for this Mexican restaurant is certainly (for lack of better words) untraditional. It's Club 525, a popular night club. There's a dance floor, a DJ booth, and you order your tacos at the bar. The air conditioning is also set for packed night club, not tasty Mexican hole-in-the-wall, which ends up as Alaskan tundra. It was all very awkward, but all was forgiven as soon as I tried the food. The tacos were exactly as advertised: fat. They were stuffed fat with meat, beans and other ingredients, with guacamole and sour cream filling the remaining cracks leaving zero vacancies. Every ingredient was fresh and expertly prepared, you could taste the individual grill lines in the mahi mahi. The chips were also freshly deep fried in the kitchen and they are spectacular. Aside from the awkward venue everything was spectacular. The owner of the restaurant and cashier at the time was also really nice. He mentioned that they just opened the day before and wanted feedback as they got their footing. Well, here it is! I'll definitely be coming in for lunch again.

The Greatest Bar..maybe they're celebrating the greatest things of Boson sports history,..but the name choice still sucks. It's actually not terrible, and there's a very simple reason why; cheap beer. It is possible to walk into The Greatest Bar, and get a bottle of beer for $2. There is a ceiling mural that really should be sold in poster form. It's a collection of famous snapshots from throughout Boston's illustrious sports history. The decor within the 4 floor bar is well done. I think the biggest problem is it's too big. The first floor is like a club, the second floor is mostly a catwalk, the third floor is a big space with the bar in the middle and the fourth floor which is for functions I believe. I think the biggest problem is it's so damn big. It takes hours to fill up. I usually only go here with big groups. Another problem I have with the Greatest Bar is its DJ's. More than once, they've had DJ's with ADD, mixing up songs that don't go together, cutting songs off halfway through, no segways.. I know nothing about DJ'ing, so maybe that's worth noting. However, I know everything about busting a move on the dance floor; the DJs aren't helping me dance like an idiot. They've got $2 beers, so that's a reason to stop in here.
