science and cocktails! Thursday night at the California Academy of Science is saved for the grown and sexy 21 and up. Live DJs, large dance space, bartenders all around serving some good stuff, and of course, super interesting exhibits. My personal favorite...the aquarium! Only $12 for an awesome night with a date or a group of friends. If on a date, no need to stress planning a romantic dinner before or after as they sell food here too! It's good to change your scene every once in awhile. Step away from getting drunk and going to the clubs for one Thursday night, and instead, drink up and get your education on at the California Academy of Science!

Came here on a Sunday (MLK Weekend) for an Asian event. Never been here before, but always drove by it and was curious to see what it's all about. So MLK weekend was a perfect reason to go check it out. First off, my girlfriends & I were too "LATE" to for the guest list and had to pay $20/each. (booooooo!) So our night didn't start off as well as we hoped for. Fortunately, as we first walked into the main floor there was a large bar waiting there to greet us. We meandered around the floor, checking out the place and saw the comfy booths they had all along the walls. We then made a pact to hit up every floor and grab a drink along the way. As we were giving ourselves a tour of the place, we realized that the elevator there was OUT OF ORDER. You know what that meant?! We had to walk our drunk asses up and down 4 flights of stairs if we wanted to go out for a smoke or back up to the rooftop to dance. It didn't help when the swarm of other people were trying to get to the same place as you (as well in the same state-of-mind). In the end, I'd say Kress has the right idea, having multi-floor nightlife as well as good music in every room. But next time, make sure the elevator WORKS!!
