by Gerardo Kinaj on this place is awful! low-class and trashy! music completely sucks! their reputation is drug dealing - ecstasy, cocaine, marijuana, mushrooms - you name it - they got it! the scene is not cool at all. girls are not pretty and the guys - forget it! go somewhere else people. this place is a waste of time! don't ruin your night by going to the playhouse :(
by Andrew A. on My favorite bar in NY, but you gotta catch it on a good night. The music is great - they play hiphop and dancehall most of the night. When the place is busy - its packed wall to wall with a very diverse crowd, everyone bumpin to the same beat. On an off nice, its a cool place to chill and listen to some good tunes - r&b, funk, hiphop, etc.
by Craig Cerasoli on Whoa. Let's just say, woah. First of all, I can hardly think straight in the mornings, much less be cute, smiley and bubbly until my coffee kicks in, and I eat breakfast. I was quite pleased with myself for putting on a sundress for brunch, until I showed up and realized my dress wasn't short enough, sexy enough, or scandalous enough. I hadn't curled my hair. And I was wearing far too little make-up. It seemed like everyone was all glammed up and ready to go out - whether they were in Halloween costume, or not. I have to admit, I was a little overwhelemed and intimidating, especially as I waited - solo - for my friends to show up. And yet, the music was FABULOUS, and the sound system amazing, that I couldn't help but love Lime anyway. I also loved the decor, and as one of my friends pointed out, it was SO New York. (I especially loved the pink mirror behind the bar!) The biscuits were nice, the eggs benedict good (but not the best), and our server was friendly, though the manager was not... The pomegranate bottomless mimosas were great, but you will get kicked out of your seat after 2 hours. Take note and drink up!
