I came here on a saturday night to celebrate a friend's birthday. This place is located in J-town, it is sort of hidden. We had a good time, the service was great and so was the food. The mango ice tea grew on me as well. This place has a good selection of alcoholic beverages and beer choices. I have the Vault XXI Burger and I enjoyed it.Very tasty and hit the spot and comes with french fries, also good. My other half had the Tagliatelle a la Fungi which is a mushroom pasta. He liked it, it was not overpowering, how pasta can be. He also had the Italian Sausage. He enjoyed that too. Moderately priced. I would come here again, it's still new and a nice modern lounge. Good for big groups and lounge for afterwards.

My husband and I have begun to travel to L.A. fairly frequently for business. He's been on this kick to stay at the trendy/famous hotels around town. I was not familiar with the hotel until I went to their website, in advance, to see what I was in for. I was pretty excited to go. The website photographer should win their own Hollywood Star for making this place look as nice as he/she did because when you see it in person.....well, let's just say it doesn't deliver. First, check-in. Wow - 2 parties ahead of us in line and it took almost 30 minutes. Not acceptable. Then the room. Ugh. It's TINY. Sure, the bedding is nice and bar well-stocked. But that didn't make up for the mattress with the ditch in the middle. I literally rolled into it. My husband commented the next day, "Wow, you sure were snuggling up to me last night." I didn't have the heart to tell him the 60 pounds he has on me was responsible for that. A/C rattled loudly and never really got cold enough. Be advised the windows only open a few inches. Don't sprain your hand trying to raise it up unsuspectingly like my husband did. The bathtub didn't drain. ugh - I hate taking a shower standing in 4 inches of water. The pool - a wannabe Vegas pool. Lots of 20-somethings hanging out. Service was so-so. Drinks and food were mediocre. We did go to their bar The Library to check out another "famous" spot in the hotel. It's worth a peak inside but if you want to stay be advised it is really moldy and musty smelling. The bartender did make a decent Manhattan, even if his manner was less than ideal. We did have a "star sighting" there - the main guy from Pawn Stars. He said hi and was a nice guy. Man, if I was him though, I'd punch my agent in the head for making me stay there. Decidedly Unluxurious. Bottom line, if you are thinking of staying here because it's a "famous" beautiful hotel, maybe satisfy yourself by just walking through the main lobby (which is quite beautiful but doesn't seem to be used for anything) and taking a look.

So I have come to either love Trigger or hate it, depending on the day and time. When I was unemployed, I quickly racked up frequent drinker points with there point program during happy hour on weekdays (although none of the staff knows what these points get me). Pros: If you like to get premium booze during happy hour this is the place to be (they can make my specialty martinis, manhattens, cosmos with the booze I like, not well); No cover during happy hour; Take Credit Card (this was really important when I was unemployed!) Cons: Plastic cups always, even during happy hour; Cover on busier nights; The industrial look (including the gold plastic material chairs complete with burn marks all over them already); Layout not conducive to dancing; Food is not that great. Basically, I only come during happy hour, otherwise, I go somewhere else.
