I love this place. They make delicious cocktails that are precisely put together each and every time.  And they'll mix you any cocktail you can possibly think of.  Maybe drinks here are pricier than at other venues in the city, but it's the price you pay for not having a slapped together cocktail. The Ranstead Room is cozy and intimate.  If it does get busy, people waiting to be seated line up outside;  patrons are never crammed inside.  It's totally conducive to chatting at your table (this is my favorite thing about this place!).

This place was pretty good.  I had a pitcher of beer (Checker Cab Blonde Ale) that was $22 and tasty and we managed to get a table on the side of the bar that's towards the stage.  It wasn't very crowded, probably because it was supposed to rain, but there were a bunch of people in that part of the bar and we were also able to hear the music pretty well.  The range of people there was really wide and I was definitely overdressed, but that's ok.  The music being played is a little bit like the stuff they had at parties at my high school and I saw a lot of loafers and godawful plaid shorts. About thirty minutes before closing time (which was at one), it started pouring off and on.  We got some trash bags from the staff and made some super attractive ponchos to wear out.  It ended up being fun, but between closing time and the rain that place cleaned out in about 30 seconds.

Good barbecue. The sausage and brisket are great.
