Last night was our first night out in San Fran proper since we moved to California. And what an awesome place to spend it. I'd been following the Bootie party via their blog for a couple years now, so it was totally awesome that I was able to actually go to one of them. The club isn't overly large. We did get there way early (9:30-ish) and yea the place was totally empty. But then again, it allowed us to score a nice place to sit for the night and we met some nice girls on a birthday bash. The soundproofing in the upstairs lounge is pretty amazing - when we were in there, we couldn't even hear the outside music. There are some booths on the upstairs level (that don't really let you see the dance floor but are really comfy) and there are some sofa-like things along the first floor wall but otherwise, you're pretty much standing all night. Very eclectic crowd, and not filled with the typical club-going sorority girls or Jersey-shore like guys. Probably a 40/60 mix of gay vs. straight folks, though that was a bit hard to tell. Made for a great dance crowd. Some risers for the showy folks, plus people danced on the stage when the house band wasn't on. The house band is pretty cool - playing live mashups has to be kind of disconcerting but they had great energy and were a lot of fun. The Bootie nights are a hit/miss music-wise. For the most part, the music was great. Some of the mashups don't work quite right and the transitions between songs don't go as smoothly as they might at a traditional club, but the blending of songs always gets a crowd up and dancing. The drink prices aren't outrageous and the staff are AWESOME. Probably the most polite, most attentive group of employees I've ever seen at a club. We had a fantastic time and we're definitely looking forward to attending more Bootie events.

DO NOT come here for concerts!! The Mezzanine isn't built for shows but rather just dancing (club). As a CLUB the Mezzanine is great, loud sound system, big dance floor, and small outside area. As a concert place, the Mezzanine SUCKS!!! Get's way too crowded, can't walk, be prepared to be in people boobs and crotches. The place is flat so there are few place to get a good look at the performer. The only places are the very front and upstairs on the rail. unless you plan on holding your ground all night, this is not fun. Be careful with the VIP as well, sometimes they make the whole upstairs VIP which in turn get just as crowded if it wasn't. Waste of money. The best place to guarantee a great view without having to fight for your space is the bottle service area, nice booths but I don't know how much they run for. So I will tell myself again, I will only come back when it's a club night.

Proof that every club needs a face lift. The inside of Manor West is very well decorated and put together. Worthy of being the backround in my pics! Good use of space, I didn't feel squished. Me and my friends had a VIP table, the waitress was very friendly. AHHH new club smell...I'll take that over a stinky, dirty club any day. Definitely going back.
