I have been going to dance clubs since I was 15, legally. I consider myself a club aficionado. I know how to behave. I am never rude or disrespectful to the people who have to run these establishments. So tell me why, when my two friends are not able to get into Roe after I've told them they were going to have fun and enjoy their experience AND after they have paid $62 to get into any club on their so-called list am I being kicked out for asking why they are not able to get in. I did not raise my voice, I did not give a stink eye, I just asked a question. I'm try to make sure all of my friends are able to have a great time and celebrate my friend's last night of freedom before she gets married. Instead, they all leave because I am being kicked out for asking a question. Roe, how can you consider yourself a night club? Most of the time, your DJs play the same music twice and have horrible transitions. I let that go because of the diversity of your music. But clearly, you could not handle 25 year-old professional women and one gay man celebrating her last night before becoming married. I never thought we would have to come across homophobia in SF at this day and age but unfortunately this might be the case. Do SF a favor and move to a suburb where your ignorance would be tolerated.

We went to Coda this past Friday as we had heard good things about the place. We showed up relatively early for dinner before the show and there was hardly anyone there so we didn't think it was going to get busy. By the time we left (a few songs into the show) it was packed. Our waitress wasn't the friendliest or helpful that we've had but we were busy catching up with friends so we weren't focusing on ordering right away either. To share, we started with the Truffled fried Kennebec potatoes which were good and the aioli had a nice flavor. Then I shared the heirloom tomato salad which was different than others ones I've had but it had an interesting and good taste to it. For the main meal, we all had burgers and everyone really enjoyed them. For dessert we had the warm chocolate brownie with ice cream. When we were leaving they had a Ray Charles tribute band playing and they were pretty good and people were getting out on the dance floor which was cool to see. If you're looking for a relaxing place to have some alright food and catch a live band afterwards Coda is a great spot.

In order of amazingness: 1. Avocat Creole - Halved avocado stuffed with crab - pure amazingness. The aftertaste of it is amazing. It tastes like Asian food but has a delayed flavor that tastes like taco seasoning! It is something that I may have to copy if I have to make an appetizer for functions. 2. Plantano- Fried plantains - great flavor and cooked to perfection. I didn't realize how much I missed fried bananas! 3. Cari Volaille - chicken curry - very flavorful chicken with a broth almost like oxtail soup - great and filling entree 4. Crevette Coco - shrimp in coconut sauce - very good dish in itself, but it feels like it could have been from any restaurant. It did not stand out like the other dishes. There was also excellent service from the one waitress tackling the whole place on a Monday night. Beer was warm but I just pretended that's how it was supposed to be there. I will definitely go to Bissap Baobab to compare it to this restaurant. I would highly advise getting the first two appetizers I mentioned along with the Cari Volaille. Total tab with the http://restaurant.comcertificate: $19
