Easily my favorite place to go dancing in the city-- seriously-- you have to rip yourself off the dance floor. You can usually get away with no cover and no line. I'm hungover just thinking about it!
by Seanté B. on I just moved to SF and am slowly but surely becoming familiar with the nightlife here, so a friend recommended we check out this place. I came here for the first time last night with about 6 of my girls and had a BLAST! Great music and incredibly strong drinks. I didn't catch the bartender's name, but I had ONE Long Island, and I was good to go for the night. Good DJ's in both rooms, but I loved the hip hop room. He definitely got the party going. Pretty mixed crowd here. I still don't understand how people in SF don't dress up when they go out, but I will continue to stay in my dresses and stilettos. One of my friends was in town visiting from LA and even she had a great time. I would definitely go there again and I recommend it to people who want to let loose and dance to good music.
by Emilie Lile on A def go-to when I can't deal with the marina-fication of most of the rest of the mission (that's right valencia street, I'm looking at you). Hibiscus or Tamarind drinks are amazing, but go early and have just one and then stick to beer (cheaper and less chance of it getting destroyed in ensuing dancing revelries). Its big brother, Bissap Baobab, is just around the corner, and well worth checking out for dinner beforehand. Go to Little Baobab; yes, they have a cover. This is not uncommon, and is worth it to get some quality music that doesn't feature the lyrical stylings of either (1) beyonce or (2) the ting tings.
