My girlfriends and I are a mixed group of 30 year old females- White/European, Asian/Chinese, Middle Eastern/Latina, and African-French. We tried for the second time to get into The Circle. They would not let us in as we were not Korean. We were dressed up, heels, make up, hair, and it was freezing! We know it was not a dress code issue, but an ethnicity problem. And I speak some Korean, but being white was apparently an issue for them. *so sad* The first time we tried to get in was in June, for my birthday. At 1 am or 1:30 am we waited in line, but they told us they were full and at capacity. As we walked away, we noticed that they let Korean people in after us. I just wanted to enjoy my birthday, so I went somewhere else. Last night (Saturday evening 12/4) I wanted to try again. So my friends and I reserved on their website at 6 pm. We all reserved, just in case they told us they might be full. I created a login and checked, and my reservation showed up. So I knew I reserved. The website told us to get there between 10 and 10:30 to ensure we got in. So my group of lovely ladies went there early and waited. They told us the doors did not open until 11 pm. So we walked around and then came back. We were at the front of the line. This Asian guy with a closely cropped buzz cut- he was the one who kicked us out on my birthday- came over and told us we would not get in. When we asked why, he said we had not reserved. I told him we had. Then he looked at a list, looked at us, and said we had not reserved. He did not even ask my name. How could he know? Oh, right, we don't have Korean sounding names! Then he told me we could not have reserved. Then he told me the website would not allow it, that reservations were only for Friday. The Asian dude asked us to leave. He did not make a broad announcement or check with others in the line. Then he came back and told us that a party of 4 could have a table with bottle service for $375. We would get one bottle of Grey Goose to share. We asked why he did not approach the others in the line about it. So then he announced there would be three lines. Lines for bottle service, then the "regulars" divided into males and females. He told us we would not get in. He did not explain why. He said if he recognized regulars, they could get in for $20. The Korean people in line told us they had been before but were not regulars. Some Korean people standing in line by us had not been there before. One Korean guy next to me warned me that "it was a Korean thing, only Koreans could get in." He added that he hoped we could get in, and told me that he'd like to dance with our group if we did get in. The folks that did bottle service were predominately Chinese, not counting the Korean people. In other words, there was a "non-Korean person tax" to get in. Then a African-American bouncer came by and asked us to get off the line. He said we were lying and had not reserved to get in. I asked to speak with a manager, but they would not let us. I saw a tall, chubby, Korean fellow who looked sort of in charge and asked him to see this list. They had a handwritten book and had not downloaded the electronic list from they website, it seemed to me. They said they were bottle service only, though their website does not say that. They website in fact shows everyone dancing and does not show tables. There is no way everyone is sitting at a table. This fellow quasi-showed me the book, but not really. He would not let me see if my name was there. Basically, they the story kept changing. First, it was you needed to reserve. Then it was, you need bottle service and a table. Then it was, there are no more available tables; keep in mind, it was now 11:40 pm and we were still in front, very few people got in. (They let others in from another line on the other side of the ropes, but no-one from the main velvet rope area and lines yet.)  Then they kept changing the price of a table and bottle service, from $320-$380. Next, they said we had to be invited by one of 15-30 guests or hosts to get in. Then they said we had to be regulars. They would not let us speak to a manager and told us we had to leave. We were very cool, calm, and collected, but it was outrageous that they would not let us in when everyone knows you can get in for $20 and even their website does not talk about table/bottle service requirements for entry. So we tried to get in, essentially from 10 pm- 12 am with no luck. We were treated really rudely. They then asked for our ID and gave us wristbands. Then told us we could not get in. And still no firm explanation as to why. To top it off, the owner came out and had a personal assistant put on his scarf and coat for him, while the poor assistant froze in the bitter cold. If that is how management is, no wonder the front lines people were so awful to potential guests.

I'm not ashamed to say this and I'm gonna say it loud and proud: MYNT IS MY HAPPY PLACE! I know some people will disagree with me and I understand where they are coming from but personally, nothing puts me in a better mood than those first 5 minutes of stepping inside: the scent in the air, the infectious ENERGY, the sounds, the sights...I feel like it's a sin to be unhappy here! So leave the negative energy and your worries at the door. Just appreciate the music and the beautiful people because everything is there for you to enjoy! Side note: It's not that difficult to get in. Just dress nicely, have a positive attitude, be respectful and voila`: you're in!
