Get each taco "Nick's way" (Basically consists of two taco shells: a hard taco shell wrapped in a soft one to give it a nice soft crunchiness). Bf and I basically went nuts here--letting our stomachs do all the ordering. We ordered about $40 worth of food for lunch (thank G we had enough cash since this place is CASH ONLY!) We ordered the nachos with chicken, two carne asada tacos (Nick's way), two fish tacos (Nick's way), watermelon aqua fresca, and the elote (corn). We came on a Sunday during the football game, so it was a bit hard to find a table but as long as you have sharp eyes and ninja-style table grabbing skills, it isn't so bad. The tables are on a first come first serve basis.

Okay, I'm writing this review after a couple o' beers, a margarita, and a white russian (tequila always gives me heartburn, the milk helps...) But waaaaaaaaay awesome, duuuude, dog man! SHUFFLEPUCK! I'd been to countless rock shows at El Rio, and always, I've passed by the shufflepuck board with a mix of intrigue and wonderment as I gravitated to the back room for "the Rock." I knew, one day, that the day would come where I'd play me some shufflepuck for the first time. Thanks to a friendly fellow Marylander who let me have his round of shufflepuck this evening, THAT NIGHT WAS TONIGHT! WOW, what a great game! It's so visceral, so smooth, so daunting, subtle, fun, challenging, it's waaaaaaay rad. Also, apparently I'm a natural, because I kicked ASS! So, the line on el rio: Jenny from Erase Errata sets up really kick ass rock shows and events. The sound guy Fred (or maybe it's Frank) is really funny and awesome, with great facial hair. The room for the bands sounds good, and the bands usually rule. The outdoor patio is spacious and fantastic. The drinks are cheap (tonight Margarita's were $2.50!) The douchebag factor is much lower than almost any bar north of Army St (Cesar Chavez.) It's close to my house. Unisex bathrooms. And now, SHUFFLEPUCK! What a great part of my life. IT RULES!
