I don't bring the baggage of frequenting this place when it was on South Congress, so I am reviewing based on the new location on 6th St. My girlfriend and I happened on this place by accident- wanted to go to Stubbs, but there was a long wait, so wandered south down Red River not really expecting much, and this place was on the corner. Went in and tried it out- not bad at all for the price! It is not the best interior Mex food in Austin like say Curra's Grill on Oltorf, but for what you pay and the alternatives around that area of town (eating from a trailor!) it was fine. The salsa was spicy, and I ordered the Mole Chicken with black beans and it was good- a bit mild but good. I would not recommend the Sangria- small glass for $6 and not very good. This place is more like a drinking and live music atmosphere that happens to have decent food- you can tell from the bar setup they do a lot of business serving drinks. It is clean, good seating and window access right on 6th, and friendly staff. The night we were there , happened to be during the Thanksgiving weekend so the Mariachi band was on vacation, but would like to go back later and check out the music.

Opera bleeds into Crimson. They are pretty much the same place. I've been here on several occasions where all the rooms are open some nights were only the dance floor is exposed. The music is whack. Either techno or hip hop that's mashed together with techno. There is no place to sit and they of course make you wait in a super long line before letting you in to make it look like from the streets that its super busy. Friday is Asian night so be prepared for that. Valet right across the street is 20 to 25 so go down further on the street and you have find it for 10 to 15.
