Ingredients for a great burger joint: - milkshakes that are delicious and come up through the straw immediately - tasty, well-cooked burgers with interesting toppings and substantial buns - fun, retro atmosphere Flip has all of the above. I'm sure I echo everyone else in saying, the food is great, the milkshakes are killer, and the decor is hip. What you might not hear in other reviews would be that waiting for a barstool can get you seated in 10 minutes or less and that the barstaff are very courteous. Blais seems to be back in his element.

It is what it's supposed to be, a big space for salsa dancing. Easy parking, easy location, by car...so you can't get plastered if you're driving. What fun is salsa dancing if you're not plastered? Public transit...good luck. The mot noticeable thing about this place is the crowd. Nothing like a place full of forceful, machismo-ful old douchebags grabbing and pulling at girls instead of nicely asking for a dance. There were the cool guys there, so I hope that doesn't detour single ladies. Some real good salsa dancers, and there was that guy that looked like Kobe. Go in a larger group with at least one or two "enforcers" be it male or female. Drinks and cover were overpriced. But free parking. Eh. BTW, watch out for the cougars. Raaarr.

I remember when this Cuba Libre first opened, and you'd be amazed at how happy people were to see the giant curtain part: that was a few years ago, and on my most recent stop in, the curtain was dormant. I'm guessing that after you see it fly open a few hundred thousand times the novelty wears off. At any rate, this place is as others have intoned, a servicable lounge with a sort of over-arching Latin theme: there's a pretty massive collection of rums available, including some local flavor, so that's cool. And last time in I actually ate dinner: the rosemary grilled chicken with artichoke hears came out tender and just about spot-on. Service can run from attentive to somewhat apathetic, and the selection of brews is decent. And yes, in the late evenings the place does fill up; they have tended to bring in DJs to spin in the back room. It's an oddish shotgun setup and the place can get a little too crowded for comfort. And while I'm sure at some point I'll be back, it may not until the trade winds blow me in.
