Pros: -was a nice place/vibe to have a group dinner in the side room. It does have a nice homely feel about it. -the duck was nice.. give gave it an 8/10 Thats about it. Cons: -Man behind the bar was a rude ahole. His face might crack if he ever smiles. Is life really that bad? -Host was horrible... snapping at your customers about your inability to do simple maths? What the? I usually find simply fixing the problem straight up is generally pretty easy, especially being such over such a little oversight. -Also putting staff down in front of customers over simple accidents is quite an unattractive look. -friends were not able to eat their frozen cooked steak, was too foul to stomach. -got so packed it was uncomfortable and definitely a safety hazard, completely cancelled out the initial positive about the vibe / homely feel. Happily left as soon as I could and certainly not returning in future. Shame, as the place definitely has potential. MORAL: You cant buy class I'm afraid. It comes from within.

What a great bar. Its just one block or less from Tommys Joynt, and the Grand Ballroom. The bar tender was attentive and made excellent drinks.

This is a real interesting place. I usually end up here after work on Fridays..and some days its simply brilliant with people, music and not to mention - free hors d'oeuvres. But certain days, music is lame and the bartender is rude coz there are no hot chics and the squalid art students have left shitty/no tips. Give the Minna a chance though - its a real SF classic. I have been to some great late night parties here.
