If Heaven has chocolate pot de la crema from Morimoto, I am going to try my darnest to be good for life! :) Food: 1. yosetofu - made table-side with step-by-step explanation! they pour some salt reduction and after 10 mins, the magic happens and tofu shall be served! :) best with that crab gravy! 2. surf and turf - hamachi filet super fresh. white fish usually have this smell..this one with the avocado/cilantro sauce was perfect! the kobe beef was done the right way...a tad bit oily for my dad. the baby potatoes....melt in your mouth, with the right amount of butter. 3. hot stone pot with kobe - served table-side, this one..the beef is cooked by placing the slices against the insides of the pot...the sauce mixed in with the rice is just the right balance of salty/sweet. bits and pieces of crunchy veg goodness inside the rice made this dish my fave! 4. black cod miso - another melt-in-your-mouth goodness with no fishy funk 5. sorbet trio - coconut, chocolate ginger and sour cherry. i thought the coconut sorbet was coconut milk curdled...very coconutty! 6. chocolate pot de la crema - refer to statement above! alright...it was an orgasm in my mouth...except i was with family! lol...the chocolate wasn't too sweet..diabetic-approved as per my mother. the creme topping was milkyness in perfection. i had to refrain from licking the bowl...cause mummy was beside me. Service: Waitress was very attentive...kindly accommodated all my many requests: - can my mother's entree come first? she took her meds and needs food asap...Yes, and she remembered my mother's entree - can i have extra plates? we are sharing the food...out came 4 extra plates, 1 each. - can i have more hot water in our 4 tea pots ...yes, coming right up. - what do you recommend for dessert? choc pot de la crema...that was MY first pick too! - do you know if the street meter parking popo works on Sunday? Not sure...but I will check. - she came back with the check right after dessert knowing we had to bounce! :) What more can you ask for..when you have family and fine dining? :) Tip-bits: Bathroom down the stairs Coat-check available Reserve online at rateclubs or http://opentable.com Valet parking $15 or on-street parking for 25 cents/8 mins Free 2-in-1 matches

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times. From start to finish it is a awesome experience. The valet parking staff is friendly as can be, the doormen always greet you with what appears to be a sincere hello. The checkin people are fast, and friendly and very accomodating! The rooms are gorgeous, all be it small, but very luxurious. The views are incredible from almost every room. The bar downstairs (the hotel bar, not Tropicana or Dakota) has some really friendly staff. I actually chatted it up with the bar tender for an hour one stay, came back 2 months later for another work trip and the gentleman remembered me. I absolutely love this hotel and since my first stay here, I've never gone to another hotel since. Five stars in more ways than one!
