The talent is decent. The dress code is relaxed. The drinks are Hollywood priced. Table service isn't recommended but if you need a place to sit then by all means go for it. I haven't gone since they switched promoters, but I've heard that the line situation is intense. Sorry to hear that. There are much better places to go to in Hollywood that are less crowded and more intimate. Pass it up...

My first review as an Elite! Yay! In passing by Atlanta on my way to Florida, a pirate themed restaurant with live jazz sounded like a great way to spend an evening, so that's exactly what we did. I wasn't sure what to expect initially upon entering the restaurant apart from the fact that there was supposed to be a pirate ship as part of the décor, but I didn't expect that most of the restaurant was actually in the pirate ship. They even had live turtles and alligators (though I didn't actually see any of the alligators)! The thing I didn't care much for with regards to Dante's was the fact they basically had you deep-fry your food. True, you're using soy oil versus peanut or vegetable oil which is a little better, but I would have much preferred a broth to cook my meats and vegetables in. Their pecan pie was uber sweet and uber good - a la mode, of course! The service was phenomenal. We didn't have a reservation on a Saturday evening, but they were able to accommodate us no problem. Our waitress was extremely friendly, helpful, and downright funny. She enhanced our experience that much more (and topped my daiquiri with whipped cream and a cherry!). All in all, good service, unique theme, decent food, a fun night out.

A dress code? Are you fucking kidding me? What is this, the 1950s? I'm getting ready to eat there tonight, and so no actual review yet... but for reals. "Jacket required for gentlemen" irritates me, and I'm not even a gentleman. Edit: Ok... so while I'm willing to grant that the food is decent and the stuffy tuxedoed waiters do a great job at taking care of you, the generational aspect is just too much to bear. Even if you take the average age at our table -- parents included -- we were still decades younger than the rest of the crowd. The prime rib was lovely, but ultimately just prime rib.. the sides were the typical steak house fare. For the prices I'd love an equally pricey feeling decor. No such luck.
