I think it's pretty much impossible for a large outdoor drinking space to get less than four stars from me.  Add that its on the water and you can get good food as well and yes, it is actually impossible to get less than a Yay! I'm a fan. We took a quick break from the non stop Del Klose improv comedy marathon at the UCB to head over to The Frying Pan for some food and another friend's birthday party.  It was my first trip after hearing about the bar on a boat for the last couple years.  I wasn't expecting something that old school but the atmosphere was great.  We got a couple of beers, ordered food and somehow managed to grab a table. I don't like dive bars because the beer is cheap, but the money saved is a nice side benefit.  It throws me off, however, when I then go someplace and am asked to pay $7 for a Corona.  If I hadn't been out on a boat during a great summer NYC night, I might have been more upset, but on this night I wasn't complaining. The food was good as well.  I just got a hot dog and it was decent.  My friend had decided to go vegetarian for a month as a partial protest to her Philadelphia Eagles signing Michael Vick.  I still don't really get that, but she really liked the roasted vegetables & hummus wrap. Overall, the frying pan is a unique experience and a great place to spend a nice summer day or evening in this city.  Be prepared to spend a little cash if you're planning to stay a while, but you'll have fun too.

I don't have to write much about this club.  Just read the reviews posted and don't commit the same mistake as I did. This place sucks big time.

This is a really fun place to see a show. Its intimate with barely a bump of a stage and at the same time has ample floor space. Theres a big nice bar, which I am not yet allowed to frequent, but I'm gonna throw caution to the wind and guess the drinks are over-priced you know that being so rare in San Francisco. It is extremely hot venue as its underground and there cooling system involves their burly large bald security guards forcing you too drink water. They don't get huge acts, but its a fun place to see a show, plus its a skip from church station, 4 stars.
