by Su Curry on I live 1/2 a block from this pretentious club. I stopped by with a friend the first night I moved in. Was just checking out the neighborhood. It was around midnight, 1.5 hours until close. OK, I was in jeans and a hoodie, but my friend was dressed appropriately - at this late hour, the doormen turned us away. When it is after midnight, why have a dress code? WHO DOES THAT? I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS place to ANYONE, unless you want to hang with pretentious wanabes..... It is NOT an inviting kind of place. I don't see this place being around for very long.... as it lacks what is needed to be a successful business - CUSTOMERS!! NEXT!

There are few things in this world that will get me to go out past 11pm on a Sunday night. What can I say, I'm an old sole who prefers catching up on bad reality TV on Sunday nights rather than battling drunk assholes in Hollywood. But there is one and only one thing in this world that would force me to set my remote, pjs and ice cream aside and meander down the streets of the less glamorous side of Hollywood--and that would be the Spazmatics. I don't care if you don't like 80's music. I don't care if you don't like Hollywood bars. I don't care if you hate being around people. There is really no way that you can have a bad time. I've gone logged into http://www.drunk.comand stone cold sober and had nights to remember. Please go it'll be the best 10 dollars you ever spent WARNING: If you find yourself up on stage, as I frequently do, beware of the songs Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Like a Virgin---you will want to make sure your shoes stay on your feet during these songs (for those of you who have been, you know why. My foot will never be the same).
by Teena Schaalma on My bride and I had tix for Cirque so we came down to Midtown two hours early thinking we'd find something suitable in Atlantic Station. Strip was first on our list. First surprise was a significant discount for Cirque ticket holders. Good start! Second surprise was that, even crowded as it was, we got a table in five minutes. The joy of a two-top. Our server was great, personable, efficient and attentive. The food was excellent and served in plenty of time to make curtain at Cirque. And the house red was as good a house wine as I've had. Coupled with the 20% (I think) discount, this was an excellent dining experience in every way. Highly recommended.
