by Wai Falcon on Keep this in mind: I went here on a Saturday afternoon when it isn't nearly as crowded and had purchased a LivingSocial deal that gave me 3 free games of bowling and free shoe rental. Based on some reviews I was expecting to at least wait for a little bit to get a lane for my girlfriend and I. Surprisingly, from the minute we stepped it through the manually operated elevator to the front desk we were at a lane and bowling within about 5 minutes. It was pretty smooth sailing from there. We had zero problems and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The only qualms I had was that drinks are quite expensive and I do think the whole neon/Lucky Strike wannabe vibe is kind of annoying. With that said, I can totally see how this place would suck on a weekend night. I've never understood the whole "let's go hang out at a bowling alley, but not actually bowl" crowd. They should probably accept the fact that they are a bowling alley and not a MP club. Also, look for deals online because $13 a game is never worth the price.
by Alex R. on I would have to say this is probably the best dance spot on 6th street. Whenever we are in Austin we make sure we spend some time at this awesome place. The music is always good and the dancing is always great. I'm not sure if its the drinks but the people here are all really friendly and don't mind dancing. The DJ always mixes in some good tunes. The only draw back i must say is the bartening service always too packed but its a bar what do you expect. This place has 3 different levels and all are good.
by Ewa Siptak on I started with 4 stars.. moved to 3.. then debated.. Im sticking with 3 (Harsh I know) So I may be biased towards my one experience at Bruno's because I was in great company. I got there before 10 so saved myself from the cover charge (the joys of being an early bird) The bar soon filled up... this was one major downfall.. the difficulty getting a drink. The first part of the bar is very lounge like with carpeting and seating.. you go around the corner and POW.. dance floor. It was super hot and sweaty, but my crew stuck near the giant fan. The DJ was fun, though he wouldn't take requests (All I wanted was some Britney.. haha) Overall I had a great time cuz of my wonderful friends, but it gets a little overcrowded and I am still iffy on the neighborhood.
