Yes, this place is a like a dance club at 10 am. Yes, they do have bottomless mimosas (while you eat only). Yes, it's highly entertaining to take out-of-town guests or your gay boyfriend here for brunch. And that's where the fun ends, if you're trying to get seated within an hour of arriving and wanting a really good meal. To be fair, this place is NOT known for their food (but dammit, I love a good brunch). It's known as a place to see and be seen and to get up in the booths and shake your ass while being served eggs and home fried potatoes by attractive waitstaff. If this is your expectation and what you are looking for on a Sunday morning, you will not be disappointed. Go dressed to impress. This is not a roll-out-of-bed-hungover-in-your-sweats-and-hoodie -with-greasy-hair kind of establishment. You will be judged, mark my words. This is a "We're fierce and fabulous, bitches" kind of a establishment. Snaps. When I came last Valentine's Day with seven other friends (a great way to spend this holiday, btw) we had to wait 2.5 hours to get seated so what else were we to do but to proceed to get very drunk on mimosas? Followed by more mimosas and shots and a bar crawl and more drinking and drunken dancing at Blondie's? What followed became known as The Valentine's Day Shitshow amongst our friends and problems with balance impairment on part of yours truly anhd a really bad cigarette burn. I blame you, Lime. That is all.

I usually frequent the Thursday "House Music" nights in the Lava Lounge part of CosmoLava. I don't ever venture into the Cosmopolitan Lounge area. This being said, I enjoy myself every time I come here. The DJ's usually play NYC/Chicago Deep, Soulful, Funky House and occasionally will host great guest DJ's as well. Atmosphere is usually chill and funky the way deep house is meant to be. Crowd attendance is sporadic... some evenings it's slow and sometimes it's packed. I don't usually drink but when I do, the drinks are reasonably priced. The bartenders are attentive and friendly. Parking is hit or miss. There is parking right next to the Lounge but the prices change every time I go so I just glance around for the cheapest price since all the parking is shared with other clubs around the corner. I definitely will come here again during their House Music Thursdays. If you come before 11pm, there's no cover. Otherwise cover is $10.

Alright so I'm not really sure how I feel about this place. While I think the space was nice it was A) way too hot & B) filled with smoke--which made it really uncomfortable to breathe. For this reason I wasn't really able to get a feel for much else in the space. While the music was good, it wasn't exceptional--and between that and the smoke, I just wasn't able to have a good time here. I think the real probelm with Antik is its lack of an identity. Everything about it came off as generic and if it weren't for the indoor smoking, I'm not sure I'd remember this place at all.
