I love that Midtown is now considered a "safe place" for most to go. All of you with the fresh off the press GA ID's should know that at one point this very spot "Primal" was a good spot to get shot, drugs, and or a male prostitute. Yes kiddies at one point in Midtown you couldn't just walk around like most of you do in Buckhead hammered without a care in the world. I think now would be a good time to just give a shout out to the underpaid ATL PD. You deal with SUPER CRAZY ISH so i can get drunk and not be too worried about walking to the cab. With all that said I would like to get on with what I came here to say. I came to this place for the first time one week ago today. I felt I should give it at least one week so that I could give an honest point of view. Let's be real. You and I check this site/app(rateclubs) to make sure that we are going to spend our money in a productive way(or at least know what we are getting into). I will admit that I didn't brush up on my rateclubs before going to this place(silly me). I personally I have always wanted to go here(Primal). It was a friend of mines B day, and she knew a guy that does promos so we went. After not having to pay a cover(I think it would have been $20, but he works here so it was free) I was full of hope that this place could be a new spot to meet new people. The short run down is that this place has a ton of different rooms and a lot of different bars. The restrooms are for sure lacking. There is just not enough, and people were about to fight just to pee. I was told two different minimums by two different bartenders. One was $10 the other was $20. The guy at the bar that is near to the "vip(a black rope with a small man trying to cut me a deal on a bottle for $300 to sit in plain site with no walls just a black rope cutting off the dance floor) tried to give me two well rum and diets(in a plastic tiny cup packed with ice) for $20. The only problem with this is that the cups are so small that A drink is like a shot. I sipped my drink while i waited for him to close out my $20 dollar tab and make my second drink. After way to long for a dead bar(meaning no one was at the bar but me) my drink and tab came. I signed giving him 20% knowing that he had already got it by BS'ing me on the minimum. Well friends the best part of all this is that the bartender didn't even put rum in the second drink. I questioned him telling him that I bartend a couple of streets over. He became very angry telling me that he could have me thrown out of the club. I kept a cool head and asked him to give me what I paid for. After some choice words he finally gave me the "rum and diet" I ordered. People I hope this helps you know what you are getting into. I hate to speak badly of businesses in Atlanta. I have lived here all of my life. I love seeing businesses do well. I honestly thing that this place cold be a big player.. like an Opera.. they just need to hire better people. You can only burn people so many times in Atlanta. I promise you that. It might not be over night, but after awhile the word gets out. Power to the rateclubs people!.
by Obdulia Ounsy on I've been to Compound just once.. i liked it, but it was the q100 bitter ball party, so i don't know if the "standard night" is cool as well.. but the club is very big and nice, especially during the spring/summer (so you can just stay in the outdoor area). There are different rooms, with different types of music. I've just read on the internet site that is closed now, but it's going to open again this coming spring.. and i will visit it for sure! I just want to complaint about the bathrooms.. Too small!! I went twice, and i waited 15 minutes in the line each time! Too much!
