by Evangelline T. on This place is called FOURTEEN in roman numerals, not X-I-V, but I guess it wasn't not just one of my friends that pronounced it wrong..haha When we first parked..the valet guy pulled out of the parking lot and scratched the bottom of a BMW (note to self: do not let them valet car). As we walked in, the place was dark and empty, but nicely decorated, We were a little intimidated because no one was there except for us and this other table. We looked at the menu a couple of times and couldn't decide what to get, so we asked for our server's recommendations. Our server had dreadlocks and was totally laid back, which was totally unexpected at a $$$ restaurant. She said the Tai Snapper is the best dish you can ever have in Cali and the skirt steak is one of her fave as well as the corn soup. We took her suggestions and ordered all of them: Appetizer: Kobe Skirt Steak: it was small, but good enough for 4 girls to share..omg..it was that every bite was tender and the marinate was freakin amazzzinngggg!!! It was sweet and very medium rare..exactly how I love my steak! And I hogged all the pickeled carrots on the side, too..because they were that yummy =P Corn soup: it was creamy and must have been the best corn soup I've ever had! Yes, and it tasted like 1000 calories in that bowl... Main course: Tai Snapper: never a fan of snapper (especially my experience at Andre's in Vegas) (I only love fatty fish), but this snapper was crusted with tapioca, so it had a chewy crust to it, and layered below it were spinach and fried rice cake! Oh! and that white vinagrette sauces made it bombay~ 8oz filiet mignon: It was tender and it was good, but it didn't wow me. Braised beef shortrib: the portion was huge and the meat was really tender, but I liked my snapper better. Dessert: Blueberry tart: the creamy filling with fresh blueberries and a thin layer of white chocolate on top must have been the best tart i've ever had! I never really liked tarts because of the crust, but this was definitely an exception. The food and the service did not disappoint and the price was not ridiculously expensive. We all walked out satisfied and full and the place definitely got packed after~
by Latricia Bedwell on First Off... Just don't bother. Second Off... We were downtown doing some shopping and decided to stop at the Infusion Lounge to try it out. The food sounded good and we were hungry. We walked downstairs and thought "this is pretty". We got some menus and WOW! the menus lit up. That's where all the good stuff stopped. We noticed that they seemed obsessive about the security cameras, it took a VERY long time to get our (tiny and not very good AND overpriced) food...I actually thought about leaving but just as I was about to suggest it...our food showed up. The bottom note: Pretty, but don't waste your money...go buy those shoes!
by Sarina Hammon on Bordering the Hudson River on the fabulous street of Spring, the Ear Inn is where you will find a happy and humming crowd gathered outside drinking beer and enjoying life. On Sundays the bar is converted from a jolly ol' Irish vibe to a bikers world. Come for fun and a pint of beer.
