I have lived just down the street from this place for almost a year, and I've been meaning to check it out. Well I finally got off my ass and did so, and I wasn't disappointed. It's tucked away down a small alleyway off of Catalina Ave. so I kinda expected some dumpy hole in the wall, but its a very cool place. They've got pool tables, dart boards, shuffleboards, and a few bands played when my friend and I went. We had a great time with a good crowd and the beers are much cheaper than anywhere else avg. about 3.25 p/beer (we bought pitchers). If you're looking for a cool dive this is a good one.

This is an amazing cafe and so is their marketing and events manager Jamie Boatner. I organize a meetup for the unemployed jobhunter and we were looking for a new venue from the main public library. He offered us his generosity and so we now can meetup there weekly. the place is really cool - name it they have it and its quite spacious They have a real kitchen with oven for their cooking and baking so its more than a typical cafe that only has a microwave. Its also a great and safe location right downtown on sutter between mason/taylor - you just cant park here however better to take PT or walk I give this place 5 stars - its really clean did I say that? The people working there the owner has real pride in the space and it shows! thank you from the organizer of http://www.meetup.com/...

I wasn't planning on going out, let alone going "clubbin" when I got a "what are you doing?" call from a friend. Being someone who is easily persuaded to go out, I met the boys at club rouge where they were drinking. First thing I noticed was that I was not dressed appropriately. I had on a nice sweater, cute jeans and flats. No. Wrong outfit. you need to be wearing something made with much less cloth to fit in. The bouncers were either looking at me like i was some kind of freak for wearing a sweater or looking through me, which i hate. So getting past the bouncers I paid my cash (god i hate cover charges) and made my way inside. The music here was good, I have to admit. I tend to like to dance to hip hop more than techno/electronic so I enjoyed the DJ. After wandering around trying to find the peeps for a few min they found me, and we bought some drinks. "Some drinks" to my friends was 2 Jagger bombs each and a bud each. So for 3 of us that came to like 70 bucks or so, which is slightly pricey. The crowd was definitely young and "urban" but there were like 4 random old guys hanging out watching people which was creepy, maybe they own the place or something. The bathroom line SUCKS ASS. seriously go across the street to Shanghai Kelly's and pee there. or pee in the street. or run into the tunnel and pee there. just do not wait in that line. The dancers on the bar were a nice touch that you don't always see in SF. This one girl was really into dancing on the bar and it got a little too disgusting for my taste, but hey, i just looked away. Then I started drinking whiskey and don't remember much else about the night. overall, a good place to go with friends, not a good place to meet new friends. It is one of the few places you can get away with wearing your party clothes in SF, so take advantage.
