This place is terrible. My friend suggested we go here. I took the chance but it wasn't worth it. As soon as we walked up i was wary - the crowd outside seemed to be full of out-of-towners and cougars. The coat check was a joke and when we went inside we were ready to leave. Touch is a joke. Its tiny and the bartenders made us wait forever when there weren't even that many people there yet. When it did fill up it was full of a wayyy older crowd - too old to be running around in clubs if you ask me. The mix of people just wasn't happening and the music was alright. I ordered two patron shots that were too overpriced and had to take a shot out of a smelly dirty plastic cup. Touch is a waste of time and money. Oh wait and the music sounds like they're being played from your computer speakers - AWFUL. We left after an 30 minutes.

The good: I was throughly impressed by the California Academy of Sciences. As a fan of water life (and sciences) since a young age, this was a real treat for me. I really enjoyed the coral reef exhibit, and I liked how the animals were introduced through thematic settings - i.e. the rain forest exhibit led to more detailed exhibits of animals and life within the rain forest. This place really is amazing, and gives you a multi-faceted view of mother earth. Now the bad: -We made it a point to get here early. In fact, we got there probably just after it opened, and the planetarium tickets were already out! -The staff was nice, but most of them did not seem to know the place very well. I asked them which exhibits we should view first before it gets really packed. And were were advised to look at the coral reef first, which we did. Well, the coral reef does not have a line .,Other exhibits do! We could have been better informed here. - Seriously, music and drinks are great and all, but when I'm trying to look at animals and explore a place like this, I prefer not to bump into the same crowd you'd find at Gravity in the Marina on a Saturday night. But I guess it beats crying babies and strollers bumping into your ankles while you're trying to look at the over-sized alligator gars. - Extreeemely crowded. . but i think this is the case everyday. This may sound like a critical review, but all in all, I give the California Academy of Sciences itself a solid 4, but since this specifically pertains to nightlife, I'm factoring in the items above and bringing it down a notch.
