I go to NYC about once a month... I have a handful of go-to bars i know and love. The Frying Pan is top of the list. Everyone I've brought here has loved it.. great views.. great drinks, and how can you beat being on a boat! Bucket of 6 Coronas is $35 which isn't bad. Food is good too! Get there early to avoid the crowds and fighting for a table.

(Insert obligatory joke about "The Greatest Bar" not being the greatest bar, hehehe, etc.) OK, with that out of the way, I have to note that the it's not a terrible experience. One could do far worse in the North Station/Garden area (I'm looking at you, Harp). It's also not that remarkable, either. It's a standard dance bar: 4 floors, complete with bars and dance floors. The 4th floor is a nice, slightly more intimate (as in, it's smaller) place. Irregardless, it's still incredibly loud on every floor, so if you're up for dancing, then you're in the right place. Conversation can be a little hectic. Beer prices seem to be in line with the rest of the city, though the selection on the 4th floor is a little lacking (but they do have Sammies). Overall, it's more average than "greatest". Not outstanding, but not terrible. Just kind of unremarkable.

cool atmosphere inside, and classy ol' school bathrooms..hairspray, tip jar, different mirrors for each gal to fix their hair. However, I found the bouncers to be kind of mean and I was told not to lean against a drape because it was fine art???!!! Hmmmm...fine art in a venue where a show is going on with crazy drunk people. Well, I guess you never know. But Pinback was playing so they must have some good taste. It was fun all in all, I'm just not sure if I would go back to see another show there.
