Its Sunday night, our party has been bubbling over since the afternoon, it has bounced from spot to spot from rooftop BBQ to LCD Sounsystem live, from private hotel suite, to dive bar, but the final chapter was coming and on the agenda was the Van Dam Dance Party at Greenhouse... There may have been a line, there may have been a cover, I can't be sure we were flying through the night in our own world as we rolled out of the cab we quickly rolled right past the crowd and in the door, no questions no comments just in we were... The vibe was energetic and we quickly bounced our way to the basement-where we were meeting up with some friends, the beats that were rocking the basement were on point, this was music you could, would and needed to dance to, the bar tender was happy and quick the lines moved for drinks as if there were none... As usual I found myself everywhere and meeting new peeps at a breakneck speed, at one point I was up perched above it all with icy buckets of liquor all around me, the free top shelf was fun, the view was cool, the people at this moment were not what I was looking for, I slipped away from my VIP friends-back to the basement where the beats rocked on, and the dance continued to grow, just like the sweeping green walls and ceiling, so was the organic beats and moves all about this dungeon of dance! I would go back for sure; music and people make a dance party, this had the right mix to keep me there all night long... Although I did not stay until the bitter end; something exceptional distracted me and I found myself swept away to yet another indelible New York City fairytale!

I have only been here for holiday parties (thanks Newbs) and for a selected few good shows. That is what this review is based on... At the parties I have always gotten a plethora of free drinks and get so drunk off them I tend not to notice the fact that they are pretty watered down, i did notice that when I have been there for a show, and had to pay the big prices for them. The bar staff can have stick up their ass too, but sometimes they are nice, it's 60/40 with that. The space it's self is great. I never feel claustrophobic, no matter how packed it is. I like the upstairs, you can catch a good view of the band, or escape the chaos from down below. There are a lot of different bars to choose from, and bathrooms (nice ones too), both which I really hate standing in line for. Parking blows, but the overprices garages and lots are a plenty and the T is close by. I do not and will never go to this club (or any club for that matter) to dance, so i am not reviewing it on that.
