Bootie SF is unlike any club you'll go to in SF. Its held the last 3 Saturdays of the month at DNA lounge. Decent amount of street parking around. Crowd is non-pretentious, no dress code, no douchey bouncers holding up the line. Cover: $6 before 10, $12 after. CASH ONLY - which sucks, but could also be good in limiting your alcohol consumption :) Inside, there's 2 stories, with a stage for people to dance on and a couple side mini stages that can fit 3 people. Live mash-up band (Smash Up Derby) that comes on at 11, plays for 30 minutes, and gets the crowd hyped. Then it's all DJ from there. The mash-up music is realllly sick, but I've often heard them replaying the same ones a couple times. Still fun to jump around to Nirvana mixed with Gaga :) Overall, Bootie is a really fun club if you just want to dance. Warning though: I've gone about 4-5 times and each time I think the novelty wears off more and more. I'd go max 4 times a year. But it's still fun!

Best burger in town, best beet salad ever. Fries to die for. Banana split off the hook. Groovy ambience for dinner, casual chic for lunch. My most recent trip, took a business partner for lunch. Wait was negligible at 12:30, and the staff was fantastically friendly and attentive. Water refills are a luxury on a 95 degree day, and they were on the ball. They have a great drink menu, including some fun beers that go well with the burgers. I got the house lager this time, which was crisp and clean for the toasty day. Burger is to die for--I think it's gruyere, caramelized onions and a baguette. Skipped the fries this time and got the beet salad--perfection with goat cheese and candied pecans. Reasonably priced--$25 for Beer, salad and burger. Sweet!

Not really sure what the big deal with this club is - sure it has big doors and velvet ropes but meh. The music isn't that great, and the people are just okay. Not too many lookers, just a lot of pretension. Went with some overzealous friends. Didn't name drop, and got in - on a Saturday. Not sure what that was about - the place was barely full - guess they have to keep up the facade of exclusivity. The skulls all over the walls and the overall theme is pretty interesting, but they need to NOT place their paintings by where people are standing/dancing because I can't help but knock into it. The service is pretty good, music is mediocre - and when you're drunk, watch out for the glass doors at the entrance - definitely saw people walk into them more than once.
