My friends back in California would laugh at me if I told them I went to a country bar. They would think I've gone redneck. By the way, I do have that part of me that is developing as we speak. (no I'm not going to get a tramp stamp and if any of you do I will stage an intervention!) So why on earth did a person that listens to MUSE or indie music in general, and a hipster, end up in a country bar? My co-workers decided to have a get together and I was really hesitant on going. First off I wanted to watch football, shocking I know. And secondly it was going to rain. I did go and had a great time. Not a club for yuppies or pretentious people. Just stay in your 6th Street bar as this place is in a mini-mall. If you want something cheap, cheesy and fun this is the place to be. Cover was $2 after 8PM and $1 drinks for domestic and well. You get all kinds of people coming here and having a good time. I had my cowboy boots and my frilly skirt ready to dance. When I first walked in, I had some men look at me. I loved coming to the country bar and I really want to learn two-step so I feel more confident getting on the dance floor. To tell you the truth I just wanted them to play country music and not play hip-hop and pop. I could care less about that genre in this type of setting. I hate to admit this as a MUSE fan but I do love some country music. I did get my feet wet with Ryan Bingham but I'm slowly getting into it. I do have old school country music on my iPod. By the way they played football on the big screen and I was able to see the Jets beat the Colts! But I only watched the last minute of the game.

didn't think anything of this place when i went during the day, so i wasn't too excited to go at night. HOWEVER, the nightlife experience was really great! this is an excellent spot for a first date or any date! grab drinks, watch a show in the planetarium (a totally "woah" experience), stare at the albino 'gator, and be mesmerized by the fabulous blue aquariums! if you think the food and drinks are too $$$ for you, and if weather permits, make the short and pleasant walk over to irving, lincoln, or any of the 'x'th avenues for a bite to eat! this place totally exceeded my expectations so i'm coming back!

Everytime I go back to Austin, I have to go to Trudy's. There are three things to get at the Trudy's Texas Star: 1) Green Salsa (it won all three categories of a salsa competition once) 2) Mexican Martini (Limit two, and they mean it) 3) Chicken Fried Steak (It's not the best thing on the menu, but it is certainly the biggest and most obscene)
