by Toney Engelbach on This is another review for this place as a venue for live music, not a normal saturday night. I went to see a sold out Rusko show on a thursday night, and despite everything I've read, I got in very quickly and with minimal hassle. The venue itself is clean and seems to be built well in terms of sound. The speakers clearly point toward the center of the dance floor, but in a way it's a blessing because you can step off to the side if you're getting tired and want to take a rest. There were no ridiculous dancers or anything like that, although Im assuming that was because this was a ticketed event and not a regular night. The one thing that makes me not rate this place higher is the cost of the drinks. I didn't think that they were super watered down; after all this is a club, not a bar, but they were overpriced. Also a bottle of a water is FIFTEEN dollars. Yeesh. I don't know if I would go here for a night out, as I know there are better places to do that in Boston, but as a venue for a pretty popular DJ, it wasnt bad at all.
by Reyes Gioacchini on A - OK suits Ecco Lounge.. had a decent time, but not a great great time. Small club w/lots of little rooms. Nowhere to sit unless you get a table. Bathrooms only have two stalls... really? Do you really need a bathroom attendant in there w/her table taking up literally 1/4 of the entire bathroom space? Came here for Halloween, so not sure how full this place usually gets. The DJ in the top floor kinda stunk though.. did no transitions between songs and mixed it up w/80s, to old school hip hop to modern hip hop to even trance.. it was just a weird mix of music. Hard to jump from "This is how we do it" to "don't stop believin' by Journey.. really?? $12 a shot..bought a round for everyone.. no need to say more on that one $15 for valet I'm being over critical .. i mean I did enjoy myself and so did my friends, but i guess when you're not impressed the bad stuff seems to stand out a little more and are easier to point out
by Francesca L. on Sometimes I am in love with this place, and swear I will never go to another club. . . example, when Wale performed here. . . another example, the Mos Def album listening party. . . other times, not so much, but those times are rare, so I still love this place. . . PST on Tuesday night's is my favorite thing about this place. . . The DJ's are ALMOST always on point, which is rare. . . and they come with the good shit, not that top 40 garbage everyone else plays. . . I truly appreciate that. . . This place also frequently has hour long free open bars, which, let's face it, in a recession, is what's up. . . Overall, if you want to hear from decent music and chillax, not get hit on by an abnormal amount of super creepy weirdos, and meet some cool people that actually just want to be friends and not just, you know, stare at your boob (WHAT?!?!!). . . Check out 330 Ritch. . . it's kinda hawt. . .
