by Scott K. on Slide is a fun joint. Nothing extraordinary but OK for a night out with friends. The drinks are pricey but well made. The DJ's I've seen are not the best and play a standard set found on a top 40 radio station. So if you are looking for something over the top then you will be disappointed. Not a ringing endorsement but it is a fun place nonetheless.

While not my scene, so I don't see myself returning often (if at all) G Lounge exceeds at what it goes for - an upscale, shiny nightclub unlike much else in Philadelphia, filled with a well-dressed crowd bumping & grinding the night away. So first things first unlike many Philli clubs, you're gonna be waiting in a line outside. Whether the place is filled inside or not. Second of all, everyones paying a cover & the guys will be coughing up twice as much as the ladies. Inside you're surrounded lights, fun-but-still-chic decor & an amazing LED wall. There's women dancing behind lit screens & tables you can sit at for a price as far as the eye can see. There's a swank lil roped-off VIP area, but thats nothing compared to the *ultra* VIP area behind a velvet rope, security guard & bank vault door! There are a couple smallish dancefloors, situated next to the bars, which you can guarantee to find filled to the brim. The music is the usual top 40/radio hit/remix club fare (unfortunately - this place could really use a house night if you ask me). Like I said, I may not love G Lounge, I may not return to G Lounge, but in Philli, for what it is & is trying to accomplish, I think it's pulled off a pretty damn good job.
