It is pretty corporate (a mascot named Deepo, really?) , but once I tuned it out, I found the aquarium kinda awesome. Having my picture taken right as I walk in creeps me out like I can't explain. I've noticed more attractions doing this to "sell photos", but my brain goes all conspiracy theory whenever I'm subjected to this. The first time I went at the end I was all "That's it?", but repeat visits have made me a huge fan. I like that you don't get locked into the spiral like Chattanooga. You can take a quick look, find your favorite spots and then go chill and linger in each section for a while. It probably *is* better suited for kids. I can't call myself a "kid at heart" by any stretch of the imagination, but I do kind of feel like I can be a kid here. Silly? Maybe. PS - If you can do the behind the scenes tour, it's totally worth it.

Let's all give a BIG ASS shout out to Waziema. WHATUPWAZIEMA. I gotta say, for having a very confused interior with rickety old chairs and an obloong crazy shape that shoves everyone to the front and the back, this bar has been calling and calling and calling my name for years now. This the bar that we all head to when everyone is confused about where to go next.....hmmmm, Casanova? The Page? Noc Noc? Howz about Wazeima, yayyyyy! Madrone too crowded, see you at Waziema, waiting for friends to get out of a show at the Independant, Waziema! Leaving dinner at NOPA a bit tipsy and want a shot of Tequila, WAZIEMA. Yes folks, this is the go to bar for whatever mood, need or group you are rolling with. You will most likely find a seat, you will buy a cheap drink and you will see me, with a tangle of a posse close behind.
