sleek and trendy, but not worth the price. review of the thompson suite on the 12th floor - decor: very sleek and modern. very nice. i liked the decor and the view from the room. the bedroom was a bit plain compared to the living room though. the bedroom only had the bed and not much else to look at. - bathroom: everything was black! too dark for my tastes. made the room feel smaller than it was. stocked with plenty of toiletries. - room service: nice. hash brown ($5) was DELICIOUS but oh so tiny and expensive. 2 voss waters and 2 ginger ales put us back $40!!! only in hollywood right? pros: - convenient! right smack in the middle of hollywood, youre mere blocks from a variety of clubs. no need to drink/party and drive - right down the street (ten mins walk): in n out: awesome for late night eats. theres also an ihop across the street from in n out. cons: - expensive. hollywood expensive! i think prices average ~$230/night. $40 for two bottles of water and 2 ginger ales?! - $22/night valet! ridiculous!!! - THIN THIN THIN walls!!! there was a party going on in another suite on the 12th floor and as the revelers walked by i heard everything. not a great way to try to sleep off your own drunken partying would i stay there again? not if i have to pay for it. ... id rather spend the $60 to catch a taxi back home.

LOVED this place. We stopped by early to avoid the cover, but it was dead, so we left and came back around 11:30. There were definitely more females than males, which was a bit disheartening, but my group of girls and I were able to mingle with the few men that were there. The bartender was very generous with her liquor-to-mixer portions. The VIP sections were virtually empty; most people were crowded around the bar, by the DJ booth, where the music was fantastic! If you've read my earlier posts, you know that I'm a dance fanatic. My goal for the night was to make it into the "vault": a heavily guarded and secure VIP area with giant vault door, similar to one at a bank. Goal: achieved. We made it into the Vault, which was just a more chill, lounge-y area that looked like it was bleeding red. There was no table service, no free drinks; just one bar with a friendly female bartender. I was wondering what had been so special about it, other than the random Philly 76er who stopped by (Andre Iguodala). If I go back to Philly soon, I will definitely go back to G. I loved it!
