The next time my sisters want to have a club event here, I'mma say HELLLLLLLL TO THE NO! Let me tell you about my experience. Everyone's ALLLLL up on you. The guys want to get all up on the grind and the girls are some pushy bitches. I'm not even saying like how a club typically is. I mean I couldn't even dance for two seconds before being shoved over. The DJ was not even good. And I'm not talking like "DJ PLAY MY DRUNK ASS SOME MILEY CYRUS!" because I can't stand that shit. Not even when my sisters get into it. But what was going on that night was not enjoyable. Not danceable. Not groovable. I'll stop there. DJ had to tell a group of people to get the fuck out or he'd tase them. 'Nuff said. Also, upon waiting downstairs for the rest of my group so we could leave I saw a guy get a drink thrown at him, and bulls-eye, liquid courage flowed all over his bald head and soaked his back. This would have been more amusing to me had some bitch not thrown a drink over the balcony at ME. Luckily I jumped out of the way in time thanks to some warning, but what the fuck did I do man? I gave another star for the setup. Really nice-I like the whole balcony thing and it's right by the water. I bet it makes a good brunch setting. But I'll be damned if I'm back to go clubbing. FTS.

I've been to Dante's 6 or so times in the past and have always had a great experience.  The food is pretty good, but you're really paying for the experience.  Dante's is one of the most unique restaurants I've been to in Atlanta or anywhere. When you enter the restaurant, you'll see a large ship to your left and "the wharf" to your right.  The ship contains a real sail, mast, and boom.  You cross over a bridge that has real, live alligators swimming around underneath.  (well, usually they're sleeping but if you're lucky you can see them eerily swimming around the base of the ship)  This isn't some tiny ship, it's a huge ship with two levels.  In the middle of the ship they feature a live jazz band 7 days a week.  It costs extra to sit on the ship, but if I'm going there for a special occasion I usually splurge.  The decor contains many murals, antiques, and large pieces of furniture imported from across the Atlantic.  It's really a sight to behold. The food is good, although if you really just care about the food there are cheaper options that have more variety (e.g. The Melting Pot).  I have really only tried three main dishes there: the beef fondue, cheese fondue, and the oriental (which isn't really oriental at all but simply is fondue with shrimp, beef, chicken, and pork)  I usually order the beef fondue since it comes with choice cuts of beef and vegetables, and I just prefer meat fondue to cheese.  All of the fondue is good, but again you're really just paying for the overall experience. Dante himself has been around every night I've ever dined there.  He is usually walking from table to table talking to people.  I swear that he is actually the guy from those "most interesting man in the world" commercials.  He has been all over the world, met many notable people, and has a story to relate to every person he meets.  It's definitely a pleasure talking with him!  The rest of the staff is friendly and usually attentive.  They also have an in-house wine sommelier (yes, I had to lookup how to spell that) that can advise you on your wine choice and a good wine list. I've worked next door to Dante's for years, but had never gone there for happy hour until next week.  I called to find out what time they opened for happy hour to which the person on the phone replied "we don't have a happy hour, but we are open now and we are happy"  Sweet!  We got a huge booth that apparently used to be used by some bishop in Europe and had been transported to America.  It felt like we had our own private room.  We ordered the cheese platter, which was quite good and some beers.  They didn't have a huge beer list and it was all bottles, but they had some good selections. In short: good/pricey food, amazing atmosphere, unique experience, good service, and the jazz band is excellent.   Good place for something different on a special occasion.  And surprisingly, a good place for after-work drinks.
