by Gayle Deboe on Very dissappointing. This place used to be a hot spot two years ago and I came so much that I actually have a Harlot sticker on my license. Never throw a party here, they like to rip people off. We spent $600 on a table for two bottles only to have our friends turned away at the door. Ironically, if they DID NOT mention they were with our party, then they could get in. If they DID mention they were with our party, they were sent away after we hit our 10 person quota. Ridiculous. If you're going to a party here, don't tell them you are on their guest list. I do wish they were nicer, I have recommended this place to a lot of friends.
by Alton Dynes on While I agree with Sean K. that SF Saloon is certainly a misnomer, this pub has good drinks, tasty food, decent help, and cool decor. I'm a bay area immigrant, so while I was at first disappointed in the bar's lack of 49er and/or Giants paraphernalia, everything else about it won me over eventually. Especially the Tiffany lamps, the tuna sandwich (aka The Golden Gator), and the pear cider on tap. They also changed their french fries recently. I'd give it a 5 if the Bruins ever won a game I watched while here. Good luck to me (and to SF Saloon).
