by Ed C. on Nice hotel, nice location and lobby and lounge area is decorated very nice but the service was a definite thumbs down. The room was booked through Travelocity and because they didn't fax the paperwork over we could not get a room for a couple of hours. We had to grab food and eat it in the lobby. The manager did not just book us room when we had the confirmation but had us hang around. I'm sure it doesn't happen all the time but it sure leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
by kevo m. on So this afternoon while I was coming off of my Kara's Cupcakes sugar rush, I found out that my roomie knows Euge outside of Rateclub. Blasphemy, you say? I agree. What is outside of Rateclub?? Anywho. We meet up with Euge and Nance after buying a lot of raffle tickets and the next thing I know we're not having luck finding a table at Cha Cha Cha. So we walk down the street in search of some place to drink and eat. We get to Brunos and it looks a little upscale for our dress. We decide to go in anyway. It immediately reminded me of the bar at Original Joes in San Jo....early 70's pleather. We asked....actually Euge asked the waitress to come by every 5 minutes with drinks and come by she did. Euge regaled us with tales of his youth. We teased Hodaka. Drank and oogled the Russian mail order brides across the table from us. Prior to the oogling we discussed, in depth: 1) racial discrimination, 2) Asians as 3rd class citizens. 3) 40 years of Japanese oppression in Korea. 4) Korean vs. Japanese penis size. 5) Motorcycles and riding. 6) How the Mission has changed. 7) Anal sex. 8) SF's HRC, MWBE, DVBE, and public works bidding. And 9) Rateclub. We discussed all these things with an older couple across the table from us. I'm surprised they stayed so long. All in all, it was a fun night. Definitely something we'll be doing again. The food was tasty and prompt. Their crab cakes were especially good and spicy. The waitress was pretty and very very attentive. And most of all, the company was great.
