I read the rateclubs reviews and thankfully didn't listen to the negative ones. It was great! We went for a Saturday lunch and were greeted immediately. Our server was nice and quick. I had the Cuban pork sandwich. Dee lish. It goes excellent with a Bloody Mary, which they happen to make well. I will definitely go back!

Best dance night in SF....whether you're getting your groove on the dance floor, the stage, the lounge, on a speaker, you name it. The venue itself is the right size to have 2 rooms of music, space for a band and of course, the fab Mash-up Derby DJs. Cool vibe, not pretentious or uptight...overall a good crowd just looking to have fun. Incredible deal for $6 (before 10pm) at the door since most places in SF charge at least a $10 cover for lame crowds and uninspired DJs. Drinks are average for downtown, although by the time I arrive at Bootie I'm not focused on the drinks but on the dance floor (with some pre-party help from Butter or the Holy Cow across the street.) To avoid the line and get the best deal, we always get there before 10pm, buy tickets and get a hand stamp...then upon return head straight to the back door where you can flash your stamp and join the party with no wait. Woot.

Obviously depends on who's playing and the crowd who comes, but if you get a killer dj, the crowd'll match. Last night for Ben Watt felt like the good ol days of Minna where everyone's dancing, smiling and good vibes. AND, the killer sound system!! Kicks butt. OH, and the bathrooms are clean! 10 points.
