I been going to jazz clubs for 30 years , most of them in Manhattan, and when I moved out here it was like, Yoshi's. Yeah, whatev. I am writing this review to express my glee and joy that somebody has put together a great service ethic, a wonderful room, and a vintage B3 Hammond organ to create something magical in my new adopted city of SF. if you are wondering about whether you should go here, stop wondering and go. Just go. This place has great food, wonderful service, gorgeous sound, and a mystic vibe. Support it with your patronage, keep the music alive.

I haven't been here since the 90s, but stopped in after a movie. On the plus side, it is very close to the movie theatre and the food is at your table practically before you've finished giving your order. However, they haven't redecorated since the 90s when they were trying to be a high end bar - instead they just stuck up huge flat screen televisions everywhere. The food is mediocre at best.

The fact that the menu explains not only what edamame is, but also how to eat it says everything about this "sushi" restaurant. This place was packed on a Wednesday night at 8pm, so obviously lots of people love it, but I just don't get it... Parking was a pain (valet across the street and then run across Roswell Road). There was a nice patio, but it was full so we sat inside. Even at 8pm the place sounded like a nightclub and a bad one at that. I haven't heard that much techno since the raves of the late 90s. I waited an hour and a half (yes, 90 minutes) for one sushi roll and a couple of pieces of nigiri. The roll was mushy and skimpy on the fish. The nigiri was okay-- better than Publix sushi, but that's about all I can give it. I was sitting at a table of 7 and we all got different dishes at varying times throughout the meal (the first dish came about 45 minutes in, I got mine 90 minutes in, and some people were still waiting). When the server brought drinks and food to the table, she simply handed it to the person on the corner (without speaking) and expected everyone to pass things down the table...is it so much to ask for the server to walk around the table to properly serve each guest??? I guess people go here more for the scene than for the food, but I thought both were awful...
