A restaurant on a dock that's made to look like a big boat - a cute concept, and perfect on a swelteringly hot day like last Sunday.  Unfortunately, everyone else in New York had the same idea, so finding a table took some time. The "eat on a boat! (sort of)" gimmick is Frying Pan's raison d'être, so their menu is pretty simple (burgers, fries, chicken wraps, etc.).  Also, overpriced.  My burger, fries, and Diet Coke was like $17...yeesh.  Everything was just okay, nothing really stood out - you are not paying for the quality of the food, you are paying for the novelty of eating and drinking on a boat.  Whether that's worth it or not is up to you. I will say that most of the clientele can be categorized as "People I Hated in College" - very frat boy douchey.  A table of Abercrombie-clad gents in their late twenties (sorry, wearing Abercrombie past, like, twenty-two is an automatic fail) was getting DEE-RUNK, having a REAL good time, and wanted ERRRRRYBODY to know about it.  Um, please fall into the Hudson, kthx.  My friends and I eventually left because it was getting difficult to hold a conversation.

Been to Kress on numerous occasions.  I don't love this place, but I don't hate it either.  If you want to get in, get on the guestlist and get there early.  Don't be complaining about the wait when you don't show up until 1130p! PROS: 1) Beautiful Decor 2) Great Music 3) Reasonably Priced Drinks CONS: 1) Parking- Valet only $20 2) THE STAIRS! and 3) THE STAIRS!! Yes, I hate the freaking stairs.  While I heard that they have a rooftop dance area, they rarely let anyone up there unless you are "VIP".  A bouncer offered to let us up there for $20/head before, but dude... I am not paying $20 to get some fresh air. Since I was being cheap and little drunk, I have to hike down 3 flights of stairs to catch some fresh air, and hike back up in those tiny high heels of mine.  Not fun at all!
