by Gloria C. on Pretty alright place... dark and murky... Drinks were ok, though our tequila shots were probably smaller than they felt in the glass ( the trick is the glassware is so thick!) Otherwise good music I suppose... you see a lot of people deciding whether to bop to the beat or sway mildly in place.
by Terrance Kapp on Two friends and I went to the Mayan on Saturday night for Salsa Dancing and it was AWESOME. The venue itself was gorgeous and huge. The place was completely packed but being so huge, it didn't feel uncomfortable. The wait was short and our cover was only $10 because we arrived right before the 10:3pm cutoff. I thought the live band was phenominal and I loved how they mixed in a little hip-hop when the band took a break. I was one of a dozen white people in the whole place, but I felt totally comfortable. I can't wait to go back!
