Didn't know about the clubs civil rights troubles or overly selective door dudes before I went, and didn't see any of that.  I guess you can consider this review exclusive to a Sunday (with the gays). On that night, I entered in jeans and a t-shirt right behind a black guy wearing a silver body suit.  It couldn't have been that hard for others to get in. The place was packed. Maybe what ruins this club is all the straight people? The space is beautiful, it's LEED, it's functional.  The bartenders were fast and the drinks decent.  I've never faulted anyone for pouring a weak FREE drink...so no complaints.   If the ones we paid for were just as weak, we didn't notice.  The music was great, and the crowd was lively and "spirited." I'd move it to San Francisco if I could.  And since it doesn't seem like you straight New Yorkers would miss it, that might be what's best for everybody.

Strictly for the bar by the pool on a Saturday night... This place was so lame. Every weak drink they serve is $16+, so stick with shots. Full of obnoxious attention-seeking women, and over-the-top male douchery (yes, Mr. Ed Hardy leather motorcycle jacket man, I'm talking to YOU). I thought the staff people were nice, though. The security warned us about the LAPD waiting outside, not that we needed a warning... Thanks to the weak overpriced drinks. Blah.

I love the FP, it's only a short walk from my apartment so I could care less about how far it is to walk from public transport.  Just a reminder but you can hop on the M23 and it will take you all the way to Chelsea Piers which is about two blocks south of the Pan...and then of course  it will take you all the way back, or you could spring for a cab of course, cheapskates Anyway back to the review ..you get reasonably priced drinks,  fairly cheerful bar service and some delicious eating choices , plus of course the views up and down the river ,what more could you want on a summer eve.
