by Jenny P. on Yay for free popcorn, a Foosball table (although it needs some minor repair), darts, and other games. The Local is a cool place where I felt right at home. There was music, but not too loud music, and plenty of games to keep me occupied while enjoying some beverages. The drinks were averagely priced and they had a nice selection. I did not try the food or see the menu. The only negative is that the bar/seating area is split from the game room area by a half wall, and you have to go out the front door and down a little hall to get over there. There is no server over there either so you have to walk back and forth to get drinks. Kind of weird, but oh well. They had a sweet front porch/patio area that looks awesome for the warmer months! Fun times at The Local!
by The M. on I went to Temple for NYE with no expectations whatsoever.. Prior to finding our group of friends, I was totally annoyed by the people pushing and shoving... near the bar.... In a way, it reminded me of Vegas.. but once we got drinks, found friends, the night got so much better!! It actually ended up being a pretty cool little party... and thank goodness we had a table and place to sit! The crazy part is there is that there are 2 hidden dancefloors in the basement... its almost like a small 1015... All in all, it was a fun night.... but we did run into a little bit of an issue with the bouncer.. who had stolen a fifty dollar bill from a friend's purse... so watch out... and don't leave your valuables with bouncers.. if you are trying to re-enter the club to find your friends. Luckily, my friend got her money back from another bouncer (SHADY).. and I believe she also got a vip card of some sort from the manager... but she almost made a huge scene and lucky for her, the cops were right around the corner :)... Anyway, i was witness to all of this.... and it was pretty hillarious ;).. but I would have been pissed too.. so i will probably take off a few more stars due to this little incident we experienced.
