As far as a venue for shows goes, Royale isn't that bad. The stage is a decent height above the crowd, so unlike attending a show at Paradise where you are completely screwed and unable to see anything unless you are really tall or somehow manage to grab one of the few good angles, this place makes it possible to actually see the performers from most vantage points. I would bump this up to 4 stars, but the drink prices are straight up ridiculous.

The Grace Tavern is acceptable, but it most definitely does not stand up to two of its sister bars, Nodding Head and Fergie's. If it were not in walking distance I likely wouldn't bother going back. The first time I visited my medium burger came out extra-well done, as did my dining companions burger, burnt and looking like a hockey puck actually. And to top that off no one came to check on us ever... there were five other people in the bar, seriously? You work for tips, I also work for tips- move, I really want to over-tip you, but that is not going to happen if you suck. Well, while nursing my hangover after thanksgiving, we decided to give it another shot. The food was remarkably better. However, I am still bewildered as to why I can't add a simple side of greens to my burger and fries, but must instead order a $6.50 salad, a price I'm sure reflects the blue cheese on it I am allergic too and will not eat anyway. If one can choose greens or fries with a sandwich why can one not add greens to their sandwich and fries for an upcharge? Also, reflecting the sentiments of another reviewer- I have to agree the draft list is not half bad, but frankly I expect more from an establishment linked to some of the most successful beer-oriented pubs in the city. The bottle prices are definitely a win though!

many fun nights at Baobab! their specialty drinks are interesting and tasty (i.e. hibiscus margarita) and their food is delicious! In the evenings it turns into a dance club and the DJ comes out to mix some mean music! Don't eat there too late though, they'll haul your food away mid-bite (and your table). Its all West-African and the selection is unique! Its a good place to go and make a bold decision with food, cuz you probably won't be disappointed. My personal favorite is the chicken mafe. cheap drinks, good times, mixed crowd, a good place to spend a whole night, start it out, end it, whatever... BAOBAB!!!
