by Julia Eeds on This place is fun to go to. The crowd is diverse. Cover is cheap and the music is crackin. The drinks are worth the money in volume for sure. They don't have henessy here though. So all you high end drinkers beware. Don't be trying to drink things you don't normally drink. No one is superman!
by Scott Rebusi on What better way to finish off a nice wholesome Thanksgiving weekend with the parents than to go to a club and dance all night to mash-ups and watch a band fronted by an asexual person with dreads while pirate go-go dancers gyrate on the speakers? First of all, thanks to my good friend for inviting me out because I never would have assumed I'd have such a good time at DNA Lounge, a place I haven't stepped foot in since I was about 19 using a 32 year old woman's ID (Asians don't age very quickly). The cover was $12 and they charged $3 for water, though they encouraged me to fill up my empty bottle at the nearest water fountain, which was sweet. Also, they didn't take credit cards, so I was forced to use the freestanding ATM, something I avoid doing at all costs. Those were pretty much the only negatives I can remember. I was amazed that every time I went to the bathroom I sailed right into a stall with no wait, and sometimes a guy would be at the door making sure I looked presentable before I was allowed back out on the dance floor. Smash Up Derby was great, but not as great as the DJ, whose mashups I enjoyed for hours, even in my uncomfy high heeled booties. In my old age, I've forgotten the pure fun of shaking your ass for hours in a sweaty, elbow-y crowd but sometimes it just takes the right gays to take you out and show you a good time :)
by Allison P. on Oh Slide... I have to give this place a decent rating, simply because I had one of the greatest nights of my LIFE on Saturday and Slide was a part of it. It was sort of a fluke though -- out of the 5-6x I've been here, this was the only time I really had fun -- mostly due to a certain bunch of guys that came to celebrate a birthday. THEY made the place insanely energetic and lively. I was definetely into their "cash flow" dance moves -- I was a big fan of money flying all around me as I got down w them all on the dance floor. Nice job boyz! Normally the DJ is ok-- the type who switches the song RIGHT when you're gettin' into it.... homie, please! I wanna hear the song for more than 15 seconds. If you want to be groped by weird German men who try to tongue you down or if you want to be thrown around the dance floor by a horny/freaky man -- which in turn makes your abs hurt from laughing so damn hard at his ridiculous moves -- this place is for YOU! I think Slide has real potential though. If they got some cool people to work there and pump up the crowd, it would be 10x better.
