I was going to wait until this Friday to write my 300th review, since I was going to go to Bacchanalia, but given that I'll likely forget about all of the place I've been to in the last week, I decided I'll go ahead and give another worthy restaurant a shot at my 300th review. The food here is solid. The decor / ambiance not so much. However, if you are with people who truly enjoy good Japanese tapas and some really solid sushi, then you ought to come here. The dishes are really well made, and the sushi is fresh and affordable (can't say the same thing about MF, which is delicious but will put a dent in your wallet.) Started with some squid dish on their specials for the day menu -- lightly seared squid, very well made and tasty. Perfect in terms of seasoning and taste -- very fresh. The agadashi tofu was also very good. Shrimp tempura tasted great -- very light for something that is deep fried. Also got some of the pork belly skewers, which were also well made. I highly recommend each of these dishes to start. For the main course, I ended up getting a sashimi special platter -- $50 was the cost, but there was a good amount of sushi to feed 2-3 people. The fish ranged from tuna, salmon, to scallops and squid -- all the fish was very fresh from what I could tell, and my parents (who eat and enjoy sushi much more than I do) loved the fish. The cost makes it probably one of the better places to hit up for sushi, but it is a bit of a distance from midtown Atlanta. I think this might be a good place to go out for food with friends, but probably not the greatest date place. This place is also hidden in a shopping center with a Brazillian steakhouse, and there doesn't seem to be much going on over there. However, for great/ affordable food (and good service), come out here and give it a try. I'll probably be back at some point.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this place! While waiting for a table at Starbelly, we stumbled upon Blush. 8:30pm on a Friday night - no wait, ample seating, instant service The wine list has great wine by the glass prices, and featured my favorite grenache from Spain. It was funny because we initially tried to go to Catch to get some oysters, but it was too crowded....and guess what Blush has on the menu? Kumamoto oysters...1/2 dozen for $11! Score! Side note: Blush has the best use of space I've seen in San Francisco. The layout of the bar allows for SO much seating but manages to still give off that "cozy" feel. A great place for a date or pre-dinner drinks!
