by Wilfredo Mcelpraug on El Rio, I love you and your oysters, your sushi, your Salsa Sundays, your World Beat Fridays, your awesome staff that kicks me out at the appropriate hour and your backyard that makes me feel like I'm at a quineanera. I have been going to El Rio for a good 10 years now, and it's always a good choice. You can go by yourself and make friends, or take a whole grip of your friends and have a hell of a party. Gay, straight, sideways, foreign or domestic. If you haven't been, GO.
by Stacey P. on I will never forget this night as long as I live. Obama won, my hair caught fire and I watched a guy with fake boobs do dirty things with a Jameson bottle. Only problem, when I told the guys that worked there that my hair had caught fire from a candle on the bar their reply was "yeah, happens all the time." Basically get out of my face. Although the experience was pretty traumatic for me. Must see shows, not for the prude at heart.
by Frederic Whysong on First of... there is a Green Door and a Green Room (on Hollywood). Don't confuse the two. Valet was $20, so I parked across the street in the parking structure for $10. *sigh* The place was huge. Large dance floor and a bunch of little areas you can reserve for your party. When I arrived the place wasn't that packed till they decided to close one bar and left one bartender to serve the entire club. Imagine 80 people pushing each other to get to the bar. I had to wait over 40 minutes to get my expensive ass drinks. ($32+tip for two shots of Absolut and a glass of Makers on the rocks) And apparently if you know the bartender, she won't care if you squeeze in front of 30 people before you to order something. I knew I shouldn't have left the Valley.
