by Hiromi N. on Let me preface this with the fact that my boyfriend at the time booked our room through http://hotwire.comand his intention was to treat me to old Hollywood style at a legendary hotel at a very inexpensive rate. We arrived on a Friday and checked out on a Sunday. While the facade is beautiful and the service was accommodating, the room itself was just non-descript and very, very, very small. The pool was beautiful and at night there was swanky music and a cocktail bar to see and be seen at. Valet parking is $30/night. Internet service is EXTRA. The lobby is GORGEOUS. Yet, other than the history, there isn't anything amenities wise that would attract me. In fact, I think that it's a bit overpriced since we spent most of our day sightseeing around LA. 2 nights at hotwire price=$295
by Monique Marsch on We wanted to try something new in our neighborhood and since we had gotten drinks here before...I thought , "Why the hell not." We got there at about 6:30 and the place was empty except one other table of giggly gals. We sat down and ordered some drinks. I swear my wine glass was filled to the rim. The menu was pretty basic. To be honest, I was a bit afraid to order the meat at a place like this...so I chose the Vegetarian Combo. It came out of the kitchen in about 7.85 minutes. It was tasty, but nothing to write home about. Good and average. The waitress was very friendly and said it was all you could eat...but we were stuffed after the original order. About $10 a person so that's not bad for the area/dinner. As a warning though...the food did hurt my stomach about 12 hours later if you catch my drift...
