by Shaun O. on I finally bought into the hype and checked out Bobby's Burger Palace. First, kudos to Bobby Flay for opening a restaurant in University City as it will definitely help to continue the improvement in the area. I can definitely see this area around Walnut becoming an even bigger hub due to the Burger Palace and the addition of the Tap Room. The selection of burgers is great, but just be prepared to spend 10-20 bucks for a meal-which didn't exactly filly me up. I had a Dallas Burger, which although tasty, was a little small by my standards (although maybe ordering a Dallas themed item in Philly warrants being short changed). The fries weren't too bad...but still for $3, I expected a little more. The service here is great, as the waiter brought us our food, and did a good job in making sure we were satisfied with our order. Placing the order was pretty routine, although only having one cashier meant having to wait a while. Overall, the food was tasy, but it wasn't filling...and if you want a full me, be ready to shell out the big bucks. By comparison, I think 5 Guys does a better job at filling you up for a similar price.
by Zack H. on I was here for a corporate catered party, so I really can't say much about regular crowd of people that frequents this place. They have satisfactory dancing area and a separate bar on the second floor that seems as though it would be nice for a lounge. The music was a little weak and the bar was passable. Overall I wouldn't say this place is bad, but it is certainly nothing special.
