I've died and gone to The Edison! Yes, yes, YES! Can we have like a million more places like The Edison please? An environment unparalleled in artsy gorgeousness, a space with ceilings so high they make you gasp, and room upon room of secret nooks to suit both large and intimate gatherings. Such a COOL place to hang out, catch happy hour, or meet a date! Beyond the immediate perk for being engulfed by the beautiful ambiance, you can't go wrong with a 35 cent Cosmopolitan during Wednesday happy hour. The $5 grilled cheese and calamari both came with fries, and, well, they were just $5 damn dollars so who cares how good they tasted (but if you're wondering, they were decent.) The "coffee and donuts" dessert was out of this world--3 fresh made sugar donuts (4 would be better and lead to not having to fight over the last one) paired with a strongly coffee flavored creamy pudding-type dipper. The service was stellar, too--from the doormen who were cool yet welcoming, to the bartender who cheerfully cashed in our 35 cent cocktail tickets and gave us change so we could tip the valet, to the cute server (named Brittany?) who so delightfully made suggestions on the menu. I got a little thrown off by the bathroom and where to wash my hands when there was no soap, until someone pointed out to me that there is a communal sink outside for men and women to share. Yay for unintentional mingling! If you haven't been here yet, you're missing out! Come to The Edison where you can eat, drink, mingle and feel like you are super artsy and cool for an evening. :)

This is a really cool and lay back spot, they have great music and you will usually get a good mixed crowd. It tends to get pretty packed in there so I suggest you go early and set-up shop in a booth before the crowd stumbles in. No sense in looking for street parking (C'mon folks its the Mission) there is a parking garage for $10 about 3 buildings over.

Project one is a great place to see great art while enjoying a glass of your favorite beverage and listening to some cool grooves. Brooke Waterhouse and Joe Latimore have done a great job with this new idea of a lounge/ gallery. I really enjoy the energy of the people and the architecture. The artists they showcase are fantastic likewise with the drink menu, also the music is some of the best in the city. Come and see for yourself.
