by Joe P. on Mighty is a cool pure House/Techno style club. I hear they have Hip-Hop on certain nights, but by the flyers I've seen and judging by the night I visited it seems to sway more to the House crowd. This is not your typical get dressed and sexy club. As a few reviewers noted, this is a T-shirt, jeans, casual style club. I actually saw a few dance circles with folks battling it out, so that was like a blast from the past for me. As a matter of fact, tons of patrons take their dancing seriously here, as I had to avoid a flailing arm or foot constantly thru the night as they zoned out getting their 'Flash' on. The mixed drinks are in the small plastic clear cups, and honestly rather weak for my taste (and high priced at $10 for small Long Island). The cover was $20 that night, so guest list is a must. The club is an open area with dark colors, a pounding sound system, and a nice wooden floor. Someone accurately described it as having more of a "warehouse party" vibe and that is a dead on description. Overall, if you're a lover of House/Techno music MIGHTY is worth a visit. Just make sure you get on the guest list and primer up your booze intake before walking it to save some $$ before hitting the bar. PRO-TIP: Hit the ATM before coming to MIGHTY. Visa is not accepted and they only have an ATM machine with high fees if you need to access your $$ while at the club.
by Ralph Barreira on Aye, Aye, Aye. HORRIBLE place for not only tourists trying out New York City nightlife, but ANY one in New York PERIOD! This nightclub is lowclass at its VERY best. I can name 5 nightclubs in THE BRONX that are better than this spot. Mind you the Bronx is supposedly where all the "ghetto" spots are which I disagree completely. Smelly, over-priced drinks, and NOT cool people. The smell.. I don't know a combination of smells really. It smells like some serious weed inside and outside of the club. Terrible body odor up in there. Like hot sweaty stuff and people who are allergic to bathing. Oh, and hot armpits too. Most manhattan spots offer only expensive drinks, but coming from a spot that isn't very upscale the drinks shouldn't be as pricey as they are. The people lol, let's not go there. Lets just say Gossip Girl types/socialites would never hang there even if their lives depended on it! The music was nothing to brag about either. The DJ always sucked and played horrible mixes and blended songs terribly. I went to Strata a few times and usually I stood in V.I.P. which sucked very much too and was almost always crowded/dirty. HOW THE HECK can you call that V.I.P. if its filled with nothing, but cheap looking chicks trying to smash the corny old promoters??! Ha. GROSS! I gave Strata 2 stars because despite all the negativity I had some good times at this spot with my friends. Not for the club itself. WE MADE IT FUN! Strata aka Gramercy Room or whatever the heck its known as= NO! =)
by Giuseppe Mierzejewski on Best meal I've ever had! My wife and I went here for the first time two years ago. We split the $80 and $120 Omikasa menu, and everything we had was just amazing. I've held every great dinner I've had since to it, and no one has taken the title. I was happy that Morimoto was there preparing the food himself, but when I returned from the bathroom to find him in my seat chatting up my wife, I had to kick the Iron Chef back to the kitchen. We returned the following year for lunch and it was good and less expensive but didn't compare to the dinner the year before. My advice is if your gonna go go big and enjoy
