by Mark S. on Really beautiful aquarium. This was my second time here.. but the first time wasn't great at all. The first time I was half awake and probably walked through the entire aquarium in one hour. This time my gf and I took our time.. we took pictures.. read about the animals.. watched some demonstrations. We got to see live feeding of the whale sharks.. truly amazing. We also got to see the beautiful white beluga whales up close. I really also enjoyed their penguin exhibit.. you can stick your head up in this tunnel thingy and see the penguins up close (you'll know what I'm talking about once you get there). We took our time through the aquarium and finished it in about 2 hours or so. It's not large space wise.. but apparently the big tank that holds the 4 whale sharks is as long as a football field.. and about 30 feet deep.. HUGE. I heard a fact while there.. that if you were to fill up the tank using a garden hose.. it would take 16 months to fill it up. crazy! definitely one of my favorite aquariums. better than sea world. sea world just has 'shows'.. but not much in glass tanks.
by Keiko Werline on Rise is a great club! You can hear some of the biggest names in the business in an intimate venue but I really prefer the upcoming DJ's because they work hard. Interestingly enough, the scene changes greatly depending on the DJ. I've met people there from all walks of life and for the most part, everyone has been very friendly and inclusive. I've been to clubs in many countries from Paris and Barcelona, Amsterdam to Bombay, and I'm happy to have something unique like Rise here in Boston.
