by Luigi Curnutt on Good spot, good prices, great bartenders. We ordered and the tender brought our drinks out pronto. i'm not sure i would come here with any regularity, but i've been invited here 3x in a week. Triple Crown has all of the elements of a great spot to hang: Booze, DJs, Food, Indoor and outdoor seating, hotties (in all flavors), good bartenders who serve. The crowd is a definite mash up. Super cheap happy hour. i dont know how much the drinks were, but we had 6 tacos and 8 margis and the bill was like $60. nice.
by Rod Nilsson on estate was alot more "active" i'd say in early 2008, as it took on where avalon left off, and hosted all the famous dj's who came through boston. i managed to see armin van buuren, carl cox, paul oakenfold, david guetta... etc, in a matter of 3 or so months. not bad. since last fall however, everything switched over to the Roxy a block over, due to the much much bigger capacity (and bigger bars, thank god). the estate is small. it got ridiculously crowded when DJ's came through. there is a wrap around balcony above which is cool to peep the crowd below, but in general it's a constant pushing or "excuse me" through the crowd. also, don't bump into a "table" or a cocktail waitress/bouncer will bitch at you. heaven forbid you shake the $300 grey goose bottle. the drinks are expensive. $7 for beers (I seem to remember) and long island's were close to $15. by the time i would start buying them, i would already be drunk but when i looked at my receipts in the morning, i would cringe. go-go dancers were hot, and raised way above the crowd next to the VJ booth. i do remember this much, even in my hazy stupor, lol. i remember it getting really hot in this place, because of the actual layout. maybe that's a minor grievance but that's what i remember. the crowd was pretty cool, very much mixed which is refreshing in boston. overall, i've had alot of fun at this place, but the current mix up of music isn't my style, plus the dj's are swinging through anymore (that i know of). if there was a house/electronic only night, i'd probably swing through. i don't like top 40/electro mash up BS, way too played out in boston. it's worth a visit to see if you loath or love it.
by Andrew K. on Very interesting videos and special effects. There were naked gyrating cabbage patch girls jiving to the Cure. Good 20's scene. Priced the way it should be. Good music. The space is a little too open -- not cozy -- and they don't take credit card.
